"How can you help women who suffer from blemished or scarred skin?” This question could not leave the mind of the young Christine Schrammek in the 1950s. Born during the war, she actually wanted to study me￾dicine but in the post-war period the medical profession remained a dream. Instead, she completed the training as a cosmetologist and at the same time began experimenting with herbs. The young cosmetologist was convinced of their natural healing power and already began to get in touch with researchers. In 1958, the carried out her own developed herbal peeling treatments for the first time at the medical academy in Hindenburg in collaboration with the scientific director and dermatologist Prof. Dr. Horazak. The idea of her method: by massaging a certain amount of selected herbs into the skin, the blood circulation is stimulated and the skin’s metabolism is activated. The processes set into motion by the herbs cause the skin to renew itself naturally through the peeling process in only five days. A new, healthy, and above all pure skin layer is formed. Her exceedingly successful treatment method quickly drew attention. A new skin in just five days! This promise made Christine Schrammek famous.
In 1967, the specialist of herbs opened a vocational school and an international advanced training centre in Essen. Here, she taught how to apply and handle the herbal peeling treatment she had developed. At the same time, Christine Schrammek launched another pioneering product on the market: the original Blemish balm. The anti-inflammatory concealer cream is closely linked to the success story of the herbal peeling treatment: Christine Schrammek developed Blemish Balm for the use during the period when the skin was peeling. The special cream supports the skin’s regeneration process and at the same time conceals the blemished complexion. The Blemish Balm she invented with its double effect is the model all BB creams are based on today.
At the beginning of the 1980’s, GREEN PEEL® Herbal Peeling treatment’s success story stepped up on a global level. Finland, the USA and Korea were the first countries to show interest in this herbal peeling treatment from Germany. Over the years, hundreds of cosmetologists across the globe have been trained to apply this method.
In 1988, the dermatologist Dr. med. Christine Schrammek-Drusio joined the company founded by her mother and gave them a new impulse with the dermatological skin care series. In the 1990s, she further developed the GREEN PEEL® herbal mixture based on the latest scientific findings. The range of applications was also expanded. Originally, Christine Schrammek had invented the herbal peeling treatment in order to treat blemished and scarred skin. Her daughter, the dermatologists Dr. med. Christine Schrammek-Drusio, increasingly used the method to treat age marks and wrinkles as well. ‘We were able to prove that the peeling triggered by certain herbs and massage techniques reduces typical signs of aging skin and, in some cases, even completely eliminates them,’ emphasizes Dr. med. Christine Schrammek-Drusio. Nowadays, anti-aging is also an important field for the application of the original GREEN PEEL® Herbal Peeling treatment.

The three GREEN PEEL® Herbal Peeling treatments – Classic, Energy, Body Energy and Fresh Up – may only be offered by certified aestheticians. Their unique effect is based on a mixture of selected herbs, which contain enzymes, minerals and vitamins, among others. The herbal mixture is massaged into the skin with a special technique of massage and pressure. How exactly does a treatment with the GREEN PEEL® Herbal Peeling Classic proceed?
What happens in the days after the treatment? And what do you need to pay attention in order to achieve the best possible results?
Day 1
After a thorough preliminary talk and an extensive skin consultation, the skin care professional starts with a gentle cleansing to prepare the skin. Then, the main part of the treatment follows. The freshly prepared herbal mixture is applied and massaged into the skin. Depending on the treatment goal, duration and pressure of the herbal massage may vary.
After the treatment your skin can be slightly reddened and you may feel a light tingling sensation. This is absolutely normal and shows that the herbs are working in your skin. For the care of your skin at home, you will receive a home care set individually tailored to your skin type which supports the success of the treatment.
Day 2
Any redness and prickling sensation of your skin diminish considerably. The plant ingredients enfold their full power and further accelerate the renewal process.
For best results, it is important to regularly apply the products of your Home Care Set. Your skin is optimally protected and enriched with valuable ingredients.

Day 3
Your skin now begins to scale or peel. The intensity of the peeling process depends on the thickness of the cornified layer, the skin condition and your individual metabolism condition.
Day 4
The renewal process has now reached its peak. The upper layer of the epidermis dissolves steadily while new young cells reach the skin surface. Pamper yourself with a day at home and support the peeling process by using the recommended home care products. Lean back and relax – you deserve it.
Note: The peeling of the skin not necessarily appears.

Day 5
The renewal process of your skin is now finalized. Instead of the old skin, a fresh and clean skin appears.

Horsetail / Waterhorsetail
In the garden, field horsetail is regarded as an extremely stubborn weed - and perhaps that is why it was neglected for a long time. Yet field horsetail is an ancient medicinal plant. The branched plant, which is also called horsetail, has an anti-inflammatory effect and at the same time a strengthening and protective effect. Field horsetail contains a lot of silicic acid. It improves the skin structure, has a decongestant effect, strengthens and reinforces the elasticity of the connective tissue.
Field horsetail is the most important plant within the GREEN PEEL® herbal mixture.
Aloe Vera
Due to its cooling, anti-inflammatory and healing effect, aloe vera is often found in after-sun products. But the desert lily has many more properties that make it so valuable for the GREEN PEEL® herbal blend. Aloe vera contains a variety of enzymes, vitamins, polysaccharides and amino acids. It has a calming effect and can both donate and store moisture.
Ribwort
The plant with the broad, firm leaves is also called wound plantain or royal weed. It contains a lot of silicic acid as well as tannins and minerals. Ribwort promotes the regeneration of damaged cells and accelerates cell growth. The herb contains the secondary plant substance aucubin, which has an antibacterial and irritation-reducing effect. Thus ribwort is also considered an old household remedy for insect bites. First grind the leaf a little so that plant sap comes out and then press it onto the affected skin area.
Lungwort
The small plant with the delicate flowers is full of surprises. In folk medicine it was used to treat lung diseases and for external wound healing. Lungwort causes the cornea to peel or flake off. Lungwort is also rich in tannins and minerals, silicic acid and supports cell regeneration.
Pansy
Pansy used to be called the "herb for girls with blemished skin". Pansy contains carotenoids and salicylic acid derivatives and helps with impure, inflamed skin. Wild pansy is one of the traditional medicinal plants and is recommended for many skin diseases. It owes its soothing effect to the herbaceous leaves. They promote wound healing, relieve itching and have an antibacterial effect.
Marigold
The plant with the bright yellow-orange flowers is an ancient medicinal plant that is especially useful for healing wounds. Its blossoms are found in ointments, tinctures and in infusions. Calendula not only closes wounds, but also makes inflammations subside more quickly and has an antibacterial effect. In addition, it activates cell division.
Camomile

Concern: Impure skin
Impurities are considered to be a typical problem of young skin. In fact, impurities such as inflammations, pimples and cornification can also occur in adulthood. Especially women between the ages of 30 and 40 are affected by the so-called adult acne (acne tarda).
Treatment: In the case of impurities in adulthood, one treatment with the GREEN PEEL® Herbal Peeling Classic is usually sufficient to achieve a significant improvement in the skin's appearance. In the case of acute acne, several treatments are often necessary.
Result: A fresh and healthy skin complexion. This client suffered from severe acne. After one treatment each with the GREEN PEEL® Herbal Peeling Fresh Up and Energy at intervals of three weeks, inflammations and pimples have largely disappeared, the skin is clean and even. Acne scars are reduced.
Concern: Atrophic skin
Characteristics of atrophic or prematurely aged skin are wrinkles and age spots. The skin has visibly lost its elasticity. It looks saggy and tired. This can be particularly stressful for those affected, as the skin's appearance does not correspond to its biological age.

Treatment: GREEN PEEL® can reduce hyperpigmentation and even out pigmentary shifts. The best results are achieved if the treatment is carried out several times, but with lighter pressure.
Result: Young and even - this is how our client looks after six GREEN PEEL® Fresh Up treatments at intervals of one month. Her complexion is now much brighter and more even. Dark spots have largely disappeared.
Concern: Scars
At first glance, scars seem like a small blemish - but they can also become a psychological burden. Large, bulging scars are particularly noticeable and are usually perceived as unpleasant blemishes.
